My Sketch - Storybook illustration process ♡

Today, I wanted to share a little peek inside my sketchbook and the storybook illustration process behind one of my favourite drawings.

This is where the illustration began.
Just a sketch, a pencil, and an idea.
I wanted to draw a quiet afternoon at home.
A warm cup of cocoa.
A comfortable sofa.
A favourite toy bunny.
And a little moment filled with love.
At this stage, everything feels unfinished.
The lines are loose.
The shading isn't there yet.
The colours haven't arrived.
But I think there is something magical about sketches.
They're the first place where an idea begins to breathe.

From there, I slowly clean the lines, add pencil shading, and then layer soft colours until the illustration feels complete.

Sometimes the finished piece looks very different from the sketch.
Sometimes it stays almost exactly the same.

But every illustration begins here.
On a simple page in my sketchbook.
