The Power of Positive Words

An Inspiring Story of Thomas Alva Edison

One day Thomas Alva Edison came back to home from his school. He handed over a letter given by his teacher to his mother. Edison told his mother, “Mom, my teacher gave this letter to me. He ordered me to give to you only”. Mother too became curious and started reading the letter.

“Mom, what is in the letter?”, Edison asked.

Tears started rolling down the eyes of the Mom as she read the letter.

Your Son is a genius. Our school do not have teachers to teach your genius son. So, we request you to find good teachers for him or want you to remain at home”, Mom said.

Thomas Edison's mother did not reveal what was originally there in the letter, but what as there in the letter......?

In this video, Mike Pettigrew explains why Positive Words ( Positive affirmations ) for kids are so important. And how they help children develop greater self confidence, build self-esteem, and counteract negative conditioning.

Who is Mike Pettigrew? Mike Pettigrew is the author of the number 1 Amazon bestsellers "Unlock Gratitude Now!" and "The Most Powerful Goal Achievement System in the World" and he has been a successful entrepreneur since he was a teenager. He has founded, bought, built and sold 18 businesses in several different niches.

He is widely recognised as a leading expert on gratitude, and in helping ordinary people to achieve extraordinary goals. You may have seen him on TV, listened to his podcast, or heard him on radio - helping people to live happier and more successful lives.

Back to Thomas's Story..... Thomas Edison was homeschooled by his mother after he was dismissed from his school. His mother taught him, encouraged him to read and engage his curiosity to the fullest extent. He was more than happy to stay at home educated by his mother and followed his passion and grained all the knowledge he could get.

Many years after Thomas's mother had died, one day he was looking through old family things and found the letter given by his teachers. It read, “Your son is very stupid and unfit for school. He has been expelled.” He was so upset and cried for a long time after reading the letter. His mother had withheld the truth from him and continued to encourage him. She did not let him feel any less of himself. She taught him and nurtured his curiosity, enabling him to harness his talent.

Thomas's mother believed in her son and never allowed his teachers’ words to affect him. She used POSITIVE WORLD instead of told him the true about the letter from school, his mother’s motivation and encouragement fueled the genius inside him and fostered groundbreaking innovation.

Thomas's four simple principles, taught to him by his loving mother:

1. Never get discouraged if you fail. Learn from it. Keep trying. 2. Learn with both your head and hands. 3. Not everything of value in life comes from books-experience the world. 4. Never stop learning. Read the entire panorama of literature.
