This is why I love the classic children’s books —
and why I create them.
I believe stories can move slowly, be kind,
and offer comfort without needing to explain too much.
I also love positive affirmations,
especially the words “I am.”
They remind children — and the grown-ups they become —
that they are loved, brave, kind,
and enough, exactly as they are.
Through my stories and illustrations,
I hope to offer a gentle place to land —
a small pause in a busy world —
and a reminder that softness is a strength.
This is the world I’m living in —
filled with kindness, happiness, and intention.
You’re always welcome here.

I grew up in the warmth of the 70s
and the simplicity of the 80s —
a childhood shaped by cosy homes, slower days,
and small, ordinary joys.
Life felt softer then.
We played more, rushed less,
and found happiness in quiet, gentle moments.
That feeling of warmth, calm, and safety stayed with me.
And when the world grew faster and louder,
I realised how much I missed it.
It’s the place I still return to when I draw and tell stories.
I’m an artist, designer, illustrator, author, and craft-person…
I simply love making things.
I was born with naturally curly hair — soft, fizzy, and impossible to tame.
As the youngest in my family, my parents gave me a nickname: Little Curly.
Everyone called me that, and over time it became more than just a name.
It became a quiet reminder of who I am.

Hello, it’s me — Little Curly.

What I’m Making Now...
Right now, my husband and I are working on Little Curly’s very first storybook,
The Amazing Adventures of Summer and Little Curly —
a magical tale inspired by the characters and furry friends I’ve created, written by him and illustrated by me.
The story follows Little Curly and her best friend, Summer, on an unexpected adventure —
one that begins on an ordinary morning
and gently opens into a world of rivers, barns, secret doors, wise animals, and quiet magic.
Along the way, they meet new friends who help them face fears,
understand feelings, and turn sadness into courage,
friendship, and hope.
It’s a story about finding your way — inside and out.
A story for children, and for the grown-ups who once needed these lessons too.
