Another Way To See

Today, I told my friend to look at the world upside down with me.

Gentle storybook illustration of two children hanging upside down from a tree branch and discovering a different way of seeing the world.

At first she said,

“Why?”

But I told her to try anyway.

So we climbed onto the tree branch,

held on very tightly,

and looked at everything upside down together.

The clouds moved underneath us.

The grass looked like it was growing from the sky.

Even the bird flying past us looked surprised.

We started laughing because ordinary things suddenly felt different.

Not different in a big magical way.

Just…

a little softer,

a little sillier,

and somehow more interesting than before.

I think sometimes we forget to look at things differently.

We walk the same paths.

We think the same thoughts.

We have the same days again and again.

But sometimes,

all it takes is turning upside down for a moment

to notice something new hiding inside an ordinary day.

Soft storybook sky illustration with floating clouds, a little bird, and tree branches in a gentle whimsical world.

Maybe feelings are like that too.

Sometimes a sad feeling,

a lonely feeling,

or even a worried feeling

can change a little

when we look at it another way.

The world stayed exactly the same today.

But for a few minutes,

it felt brand new to us.

Whimsical illustrated storytelling scene of two children hanging upside down from a tree branch and laughing while seeing the world differently.

I love illustrated storytelling because it helps ordinary moments feel meaningful again.
